Debonair Labs — Breeding Philosophy & Puppy Information

At Debonair Labs, our foremost priority is the health, temperament, and preservation of the Labrador Retriever breed.

All breeding decisions are carefully made only after our Labradors have passed appropriate temperament evaluations and completed required health clearances.

Our Breeding Program

Our goal is always the betterment of the Labrador Retriever.

We never produce puppies simply for sale or with the intention of selling an entire litter. We hope to retain one or two puppies from each litter as potential show and breeding prospects to strengthen our program.

Remaining puppies are placed in loving companion homes under:

• Limited AKC Registration
• Mandatory Spay/Neuter Agreement

Our Labradors

We currently breed Black and Chocolate Labrador Retrievers only. This is simply our personal preference and the focus of our program.

All puppies are:

• Whelped inside our home
• Raised as members of our family
• Socialized daily with household activity, people, and normal home environments — early socialization helps prepare our puppies for smooth transitions into their new homes

Puppy Visit/Placement Policies

Debonair Labs is a private home. For the health and safety of our dogs, visits are strictly by invitation only. 

• We DO NOT ship puppies under any circumstances.
• Families from outside the area are welcome to travel to our home for pickup.
• All puppies are sold under Limited American Kennel Club (AKC) Registration, with a mandatory age-appropriate spay/neuter agreement

Puppy visits:

• By appointment only
• Limited to families with deposits placed
• Begin once puppies reach 5 weeks of age

If a puppy must remain beyond 8 weeks of age:

• $20 per day boarding fee applies
• Any additional veterinary expenses will be added
• Fees due at pickup

Pricing & Waitlist Process

Puppy Price: $4,000
(Price is the same regardless of sex or color.)

Waitlist

• Our waitlist opens after a breeding has taken place.
• Applications must be approved prior to joining.
• A $100 waitlist fee is required.
  • Valid for 2 years from date received
  • Applied toward total puppy cost

Reservation Process

1. Once puppies are born and at least 1 week old, offers are made in waitlist order.
2. Upon accepting an offered puppy, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required.
   1. Waitlist & Deposit are non-refundable! But are transferable to a comparable litter within two years of date received.
3. We accept Zelle or Venmo for waitlist fees and deposits

Final Payment

• Remaining balance is due on pick-up day
• Cash ONLY

Puppy Selection

All puppies are adorable — however, we ask families not to become attached to a specific puppy based on photos or early visits.

Puppies change daily and evaluations continue as they mature.

• We do not select our own keeper puppies until around 7 weeks of age.
• We carefully match each puppy to the family best suited for their temperament and lifestyle.
• When appropriate, families may be offered a choice between suitable puppies.

Health & Go-Home Package

Before leaving our home, every puppy will be:

• Vet checked
• Age-appropriate vaccinated
• Dewormed
• Microchipped

Each family receives a Puppy Packet including:

• Veterinary Health Certificate
• AKC Limited Registration paperwork
• Microchip registration
• Pet puppy sales contract
• Current food and treats
• Toy
• Educational materials
• Lifetime breeder support

We remain available to our families for guidance and support throughout your dog’s lifetime.

Ongoing Support & Lifetime Commitment

We love staying connected with our puppy families and encourage updates, photos, and milestones throughout your dog’s life. Families may share updates on our Facebook or Instagram pages, or privately with permission for us to share.

Lifetime Return Policy:

We will take back any Debonair Labs dog at any time, for any reason. If you are ever unable to care for your dog, you must notify us immediately so we can arrange their safe return — no questions asked.

ALL parties MUST fill out our Puppy Application to be considered for one of our pups. However, completion of the application does not guarantee a pup.
